Dear teachers, dear peers,
Good morning! I am Jing-Wen Ren from Class 701, and now I am going to give a presentation entitle “Experience life happily by reading classics”.
Franklin has said that, “Reading makes a full, deep thinking people, talk to us sober.” Only by reading many books can we copiously quote authoritative works; only by reading considerable books can we freely make use of what we have learned. Books can open the door to the novel world of freedom for us, beyond our routine life.
Reading can purify our soul. When we wander in the world of books, we will feel freer and happier, our vision will become broader and farther, and our thought will become richer and healthier. Reading can undoubtedly help us gain knowledge and improve our reading and writing ability. Read with interest, with curiosity, and with doubts, and you will be attracted by the knowledge conveyed by the books, and be touched by the plots depicted by the books. You will find that reading is enjoyment, and is happiness.
As long as you read with heart, you will find that, you could appreciate the beauty of nature without stepping out of your house. Golgi has a great word that, “Reading a good book is a conversation with a noble man.” Reading can calm your impetuous mentality; Reading can civilize your rude and reckless words and deeds; reading can make you have more intimate friends, and your life will undergo fundamental changes thereafter…
Books are treasure that we can enjoy for a lifelong period. Reading classics will enable us to feel the breathing of sages; reading classics is an exchange of idea with the benevolent; reading classics will fulfill life with temperament and quality.
While reading cannot change the length of life, it could alter the thickness. While reading cannot change the start-point of life, it could modify the destination.
Reading can bring us forever joy, and unvarying motivation. Reading can bring us peaceful mindset, and spiritual comfort. Classic poems can make us intelligent; fairy tales can make us creative; History books can make us knowledgeable; scientific books can make our thinking more meticulous.
“The show of a single flower is not spring, when all flowers should bloom together.
My peers, let’s “experience life happily by reading classics” together; let’s enjoy life by reading together; let’s fight and strive for a wonderful life together.
Thank you all for your attention.
